NIOSH Pocket Guide – A Helpful Resource for Chemical Research

Our customers often research the particular chemicals and solvents they are using to find out if they are dangerous or harmful to their employees. Many of them seek out exposure limits, personal protection requirements, exposure symptoms, and appropriate first aid practices prior to contacting Sentry Air Systems.

A helpful resource is the CDC-NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, a free industrial hygiene guide that displays information on several hundred chemicals in a standard format.
An alphabetical index of chemical names, synonyms, and trade names leads to information specific to each chemical, including Personal Exposure Limit (PEL), route to exposure, and personal protection recommendations. The appendices provide supplementary information on exposure limits.

This reference guide does not include all data relating to a given chemical; however, it provides pertinent information that one may need when researching fume control needs.

Sentry Air Systems application specialists are happy to discuss any chemical applications where fume control and air purification may be needed. We offer a wide variety of fume extraction configurations featuring activated carbon and/or specialty-blended filter media to meet unique application needs.
