A more serious side effect of dust is inhalation which can result in a plethora of respiratory-related illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>In order to maintain a clean, air-friendly workspace, a dust containment system is a great solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Cleanable, Cost-Saving Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We recently created this cleanable, source-capture configuration for a customer who performs routine fire extinguisher maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>The customer previously used another company&#8217;s downdraft table that would exhaust captured particulate outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>However, they were moving to a new building which required a ductless system.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of providing the customer with one of our own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sentryair.com\/industrialdowndraftbench.htm?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_campaign=november\">ductless downdraft tables<\/a>, our Technical Applications Specialists agreed that by doing so, the amount of captured dust would quickly saturate a HEPA filter, requiring costly annual filter replacements for the customer.<\/p>\n<p>As a solution, we recommended a semi-custom 40-inch wide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sentryair.com\/dfhapp.htm?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_campaign=november\">ductless containment hood<\/a> paired with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sentryair.com\/specs\/cleanable-reusable-filter-fume-extractor.htm?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_campaign=november\">Model 300 Roundaire<\/a>, synced with a flame-retardant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sentryair.com\/blackhose.htm?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_campaign=november\">flex hose<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sentryair.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Final3.jpg\" width=\"286\" height=\"161\" \/>In this configuration, the hood provides a contained workspace while the Model 300 Roundaire utilizes 725 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) of airflow to pull the dust and particulate away from the operators breathing zone and into a MERV16-rated Micro-Pleat Series 2 filter.
