ESD Safe Solder Fume Extractor: Now Available
Sentry Air Systems is proud to present their newest solder fume extractor, the ESD safe Model 100 Solder Sentry. This solder fume extractor is constructed from stainless steel and is fully ESD safe (Electrostatic Discharge). The unit combines a powerful fan that draws the solder smoke and particulate away from the operator, and filters it through a high-quality HEPA filter (up to 99.97% efficient on particles .3 microns and larger).
This modular system allows the end user to customize the unit to their preferred configuration. It can be situated on the table top (illustration 1.1), or it can be placed on the floor with a fully self-supportive flex hose for the operators selected placement (illustration 1.2). Both of these options are ESD safe (electrostatic discharge), and can be an excellent solutions for your soldering, or electronics assembly applications.

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a natural occurrence where electricity is passed through various mediums, and can cause a “spark” or discharge onto a given object. An example, would be a shock passed from one person to another during a handshake. The study of electrostatic discharge (ESD) has become a hot topic in the electronics industry as ESD can be destructive to sensitive electronic equipment. For companies that are concerned with this natural occurrence, the Model 100 Solder Sentry Stainless (SS-100-SS-ST) can be an excellent choice to eliminate costly damages, and protect operators from harmful soldering fumes. Many large companies have noted that the costs associated with ESD damage far out weigh the capital investment that is required to protect the process and employees.
